Thoughts Of A Eagle.

 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;  Ephesians 6:18.

Ephesians 6:11-17 Is very familiar or should be to every Christian. In it Paul talks about  Putting on the whole armour of God, The Word of God. Many preachers have preached about & I’ve read many blogs from Christians about it but I have noticed they always seem to miss verse 18. Yet it still a very vital verse & weapon for a Christian going into battle. Paul does not include it as part of the amour of God but places it right where it belongs at the back of the amour.

The helmet of salvation covers the front & back of the head but  the breastplate of Righteousness, shield of Faith & the Sword of the Spirit all protect the front going into battle. A christian only knows to go forward  into battle they never turn thier back on the enemy & run in defeat. Yet we need our backs covered because the enemy never fights fair & will use every dirty trick in his book to try & cause us to fall or be wounded in battle.  It’s always a great reassurance to know we got our backs covered in any situation. It can give us that extra Faith we need at times. We need to be covered every inch in the battle.

This is why verse 18 is placed perfectly at the back of the amour. Lets read verse 18 again… Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.  It is prayer that covers our backs. We are to pray always. In another place Paul writes “Pray without ceasing.”.  The enemy is always watching, waiting to attack us without mercy. We can get lax, tired and lower our guard  that  will give opportunity for the enemy to pierce us through with his fiery darts. Not only do  we need to be always in prayer but  in “all prayer and supplication in the Spirit” . What does this mean? It means in our private times of prayer, with our prayer partners, in church, in prayer meetings etc. And with supplication or in other words to humbly  petition God more earnestly in the Spirit. When we are in the Spirit, we know are in His Word, in His Perfect Will. We can be in Full Faith then. Watching thereunto, for what? Watching out for ourselves, our brothers & sisters… They might have fallen or got weakened in battle, we can pray for strength for them. Watching for the enemy to thwart his attacks on ourselves as well as our brothers and sisters. We can watch also for a Blessing. Watching God answer prayer for ourselves & others. Being encouraged, strengthened having our faith raised that we might  “with all perseverance ”  be more stedfast in the heat and midst of the raging battle that we are in. Again The Word says “and supplication” we are not to stop humbly entreating, petitioning  The Lord to answer pray with all urgancy. “for all saints” Not only our friends that are christians or members that go to our church, not only those that have the same doctines & beliefs but ” all saints”. We are all brothers & sisters if we are in Christ. We are all united in fighting the “good fight of faith” battling against the enemy to save souls from hell & win them for Christ. This is our one common purpose  that puts aside all doctrinal differences or whatever. A army divided will be defeated. We stand as one in Christ. We are undefeated in Christ.

 I’ve have noticed recently that the  very popular topic of God Creating vs Darwin’s theory of evolution/ big bang theory is causing Christians to fall into a trap of the devil. There is much on the internet by both sides trying to prove their point. Much time is evidently spent collecting articles, video clips etc going into detail how one side disproves the other. . Here is where I see the the of the devil setting his trap. A Christian can be too caught up in science, intellectualism to prove God when it is evidently  unprofitable as both sides are entrenched in thier beliefs. Also Jesus said “for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.” So, worldly people have the upper hand in trying to prove thier belief. A Chrisitan as a “Child of Light” should rather present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a real living way by their testimony and witness to others. St Paul writes “whatsoever doth make manifest is light.” Every Christian should “Let thier light shine” as commanded by Jesus Christ. That is the evidence of God to a unbelieving world. Jesus also stated “...no man cometh to The Father but by me“. So, The only way to know God, The Father is through Lord Jesus Christ, the express image of God. And The only way to Truly know Jesus Christ is by The Cross. This to me is the simplest way of proving God created all things because in In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Lord Jesus Christ, is The Word, The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  God Hides in simplicity to confound the wise. So, to beat the devil & to reveal God to the unbelievers and can’tmaketheirmindup’rs simply point them to the cross & then to yourself, dear Christian brother, sister. That is the evidence of a Real and Living God. Now, please don’t get me wrong I enjoy a good documentary about God creating all things  such as The Privileged Planet or Unlocking The Mystery of Life etc. I just felt to share how I see the dangers there can be and the futility of trying to prove God by mans wisdom and understanding. It takes  God to open our eyes to see He is Creator of all things. So, Christians should pray for the unbelievers that  God may open the eyes of their heart to see Him in all creation.

Today I awoke with the joy of the Lord filling my heart. I awoke praising His Name. I cannot explain why I awoke like this but as a Christian it is simply a wonderful thing to know Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.

Today is also a bright sunny day in my little part of the world and it also made me think of something I preached on a little while ago.

In the world natural have you ever noticed how on a bright sunny summers day or even on any sunny day the countenance & attitudes of the people around you? They are all happy, full of joy & the world is a good place while the sun is shining. That is in the natural of a sinful wicked dying world. Think on the spiritual… If the s-u-n makes people have that joy for a few hours with that light. How much for the S-O-N? when the Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ is shining in your life you have that joy Everyday in your life. The Light from Jesus Christ warms not only the outer man but warms the soul. It makes the inner man so full of happiness beyond description.
